Volunteer

To Volunteer:

To volunteer with the children (i.e. tutoring, child care, internship, mentoring, hair care, etc.):

To volunteer as an individual or group with the children at Nana Baby Home, one must complete the following:

1. Fill out the volunteer application
2. Have a one-on-one interview with the Director or member of the Board
3. Complete a local background check at a local police station ($10 – reimbursable)
4. Complete the state-side and international background check via the V.I. Department of Human Services (we can assist with this step)

Once all 4 items have been completed, volunteers will be eligible to begin working with the children at NBH. Please do not hesitate to ask for support in completing the volunteer process, Nana Baby Home is eager to have your support. The children who reside at NBH are in protective custody and therefore every effort has been made to ensure their safety and well-being.

To volunteer for a project (i.e. yard work, maintenance, painting, gardening, etc.):

To volunteer as an individual or group for a project at Nana Baby Home, one must complete the following:

1. Fill out the volunteer application
2. Have a one-on-one interview with the Director or member of the Board

Once both items have been completed, volunteers will be eligible to begin working on a project, not involving the children at NBH. As these individual will not work directly with the children, or be in an unsupervised role with the children whatsoever, the volunteer process is less involved. Please do not hesitate to ask for help completing the volunteer process, Nana Baby Home is eager to have your support. The children who reside at NBH are in protective custody and therefore every effort has been made to ensure their safety and well-being.
